The quick temperature change of Fall weather instantly makes us crave cozy drinks, hearty spices, baked goods, and comfort foods that warm the body and soul. Recipe testing is in our job descriptions at Pink House Alchemy. Someone HAS to do it, ya know? For Fall we’re loving the warming flavors in our Pumpkin Butternut Spice, Cardamom, Hazelnut, Ginger, and pH Delight syrups. Let’s dig into our favorite recipes. Warning: you’ll be hungry or thirsty or all of the above while reading this.
Coffee
PUMPKIN BUTTERNUT SPICE LATTE (2 WAYS)
2 shots of espresso
8 oz milk
Combine espresso and syrup in your favorite mug. Pour your steamed and/or frothed milk over top. Take a deep breath to embrace the coziness of fall and feel like your latte is wrapping you in a warm sweater.
OR
1 cup of coffee
3 oz. of cream
Add syrup and cream to a small French press to froth. Pour over your coffee and enjoy!
ICED PUMPKIN BUTTERNUT SPICE COLD BREW WITH COLD FOAM
6 oz. coffee or 3 oz. cold brew concentrate
1-2 oz. of your favorite milk
Ice
Add the syrup to your coffee to sweeten then there are a few ways you can make pumpkin cream/cold foam depending on how you like it.
1) You can add a little syrup to heavy cream or half & half in a mason jar. Shake until it thickens, pour on top of your iced coffee.
2) Add syrup to cream or half & half and froth for ~45 seconds with a handheld frother.
3) Shake your cold brew, syrup, milk of choice on ice in a jar, cocktail shaker, etc. Pour on ice and you’ll have a foam layer on top!
HONEY, VANILLA, CINNAMON LATTE
2 shots of espresso
8 oz steamed milk
1 oz pH Delight syrup
Combine expression and syrup in your favorite mug. Pour your steam and/or frothed milk over top.
GINGER CORTADO
2 shots of espresso
Steam 2 oz. of your favorite milk (our go-to is Oatly Oat Milk)
1 oz of pH Ginger syrup
Combine syrup and espresso first. Then slowly pour your steamed milk on your espresso. Make sure the ratio of espresso to milk is 1:1. Serve with a side of ginger snap cookies just because.
Cocktails
CAMPFIRE OLD FASHIONED
2 oz bourbon
1 oz pH Delight syrup
5 dashes pH House Bitters
Stir bourbon, syrup, and bitters on ice for 20 seconds. Strain onto a fresh ice rock. Garnish with a dehydrated blood orange.
EARLY RISER
3 oz cold brew
2 oz bourbon
Combine in a glass with ice, top with cream.
CARDAMOM KISS
2 oz Plymouth Gin
3/4 oz pH Cardamom syrup
4 oz fresh blood orange juice
Splash of Ruffino Prosecco
Stir gin, syrup, and juice on ice. Strain onto fresh ice into your favorite glass. Top with Prosecco. Garnish with a dehydrated blood orange slice.
Food
GLAZED SPICED SWEET POTATOES
4 medium-sized sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-in cubes
3/4 cup pH Pumpkin Butternut Spice syrup
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground paprika
chopped pecans to garnish
salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with nonstick foil and spray with cooking spray. In a bowl, toss the cubed sweet potatoes in olive oil then add syrup and spice. Toss to coat. Lay the sweet potatoes on the baking sheet in a single layer. Roast for 25-30 minutes or until tender. When finished cooking, drizzle with pH Pumpkin Butternut Spice syrup and top with chopped pecans.
PINCH OF YUM CINNAMON SUGAR APPLE CAKE
We added 2 teaspoons of pH Delight syrup to the topping of this Cinnamon Sugar Apple Cake by Pinch of Yum and WOW, we can’t stop eating it. We definitely recommend a hefty smudge of honey butter on top..
SWEET AUTUMN SLAW
One of our amazing customers, @mymessykitchen__ on Instagram tagged us in her Sweet Autumn Slaw recipe using pH Delight syrup that we just had to share. This spread is a labor of love!
Dressing:
1/4 cup avocado oil
1 TBSP mayo
Juice of 1/2 lemon
4 shakes of Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp red wine vinegar
2 tsp pH Delight syrup
For the slaw:
A mixture of broccoli slaw and Brussel sprout slaw
2 apples
Dried cranberries
Roughly chopped walnuts
Mix together and let sit in the fridge for a few hours to marinate.
